• Selection of the most appropriate subtype component for different applications

Pump Fundamentals: Fluid Mechanics, Performance and Selection—A basic knowledge of machinery and physics is required.

MODULE 3: Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics

• Review of the different properties of liquids
• Restatement of Bernoulli’s Equation
• Restatement of the elements in total head and Bernoulli’s Equation
• Application of Bernoulli’s Equation to typical pump applications
• Restatement of the Continuity Equation to a typical system flow
• Drawing of the system head curve for a typical pump application

MODULE 4: Rotodynamic (Centrifugal) Pump Performance Characteristics

• Identification of the four performance characteristics of rotodynamic (centrifugal)/vertical pumps

• Analysis of system characteristics and their effect on pump performance graph
